I have long admired the work of Frederick Buechner (Beek-ner). He has that gifted ability to arrange words and frame thoughts in such as manner as to both bless and challenge. Years ago I read the piece that I have attached to this blog and felt its pull even then. Given what our family has experienced in recent days, and really through the years, with addiction, I was drawn back to it once again. My life has long been invested in the realm of the church. But a description of Alcoholics Anonymous better helps me understand that realm.
